Every once-in-a-while you come across something on the internet that just makes your jaw drop. This has to be one of the most interesting automated LEGO arrangements I have ever seen. This one should definitely be cool for the mechanical people.
The “Great Ball Machine” or “GBC” was created by “akiyuki” located in Japan (assuming, by the blog text). He spent over 600 hours working on the contraption which moves balls at a precise 1 ball/second. The total assembly contains 500 balls which travel 31 meters in total while rendering his room utterly useless for anything else. While the practicality of this creation seems minimal, you have to admit it is a pretty amazing feat nonetheless. You can find out more details in Japanese at his blog here.
