Warner Bros. has confirmed the next entry in the coveted Batman Arkham series by starting at the very beginning with Batman: Arkham Origins. Launching on October 25th for the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC Batman: Arkham Origins is described as the first time Batman encounters key franchise villains such as Deathstroke. The title will offer familiar gameplay such as the hand to hand combat system and the predator stealth sections as well as feature a much less experienced Batman that we know from the later games.
Curiously and somewhat concerning is that Rocksteady, the developer of the past two Arkham games, will not be returning with Arkham Origins rather passing the baton to Warner Bros. Games Montreal. The last game from those folks was the Wii U port of Batman: Arkham City and they look ready to tackle an original title themselves. Much of Rocksteady’s assets will be used in the game including the Unreal Engine and even has Rocksteady’s full endorsement as they continue to work on their mysterious next project.
Since the game will be launching soon, we should be seeing much more on Batman: Arkham Origins very shortly. t3chniq will report more on the game as it is announced.
