Introducing Cyberpunk 2077, From The Makers of The Witcher Series

It looks like the future can’t come here fast enough! Yesterday CD Red Projekt formally announced the next title they are working on and it looks absolutely stunning. Clearly next-gen, and not releasing anytime soon, Cyberpunk 2077 will be an open world RPG set in a highly stylized cyberpunk setting. Looking to take inspiration from movies such as Blade Runner and Judge Dredd, this new game looks to be a drastic step away from the dark fantasy setting that the company has been used to making in the fantastic Witcher series. While this is just a teaser trailer, the developers have said it will be a good representation of what the game will be like.

The developers have noted to other publications that their plans for the game is to be as open as possible for the player in terms of decisions as well as exploration. What this means is that during a particular mission, they don’t want to have to close down any streets and give a mandated direction to how the player must progress through the objective, rather have it be open enough that some people may have different experiences with completing that same mission. It is unknown how the game will play, but rumors have been saying it will not be a standard FPS like many other games would be. If I had to guess, I would think it will take some inspiration from Mass Effect and be a 3rd person action RPG, similar to how The Witcher plays.

The title is rumored to be released in 2015 for next generation systems and PC. t3chniq will report more details as they come!
